This drawing marks the beginning of self-belief, the day where I fully embraced my artist side. Before this , I held back of investing in new media, new notebooks, I felt like drawing is just a passing hobby. I purchased, at some point, some charcoal sticks and never dared to start, since it was a new media. The day I started this drawing, I decided to rip the band-aid, I purchased a larger notebook, and just started drawing. Barely looked for a reference for 2 mins, randomly picked something that I can just start with. And I did, slowly but slowly it took form. A simple, straight forward form, that held the emotion from the original photo. It is a drawing I owe a lot to, in terms of the lessons it taught me.
